on the laces they spell out "see you in hell" which is also just a normal phrase, but i got it from this lemon demon song. before this, they said "hello" and "goodbye" on each shoe, so i guess it makes more sense with the previous versions.
there are also several song lyrics on the soles, and some of my friends' signatures on the left one. i write on my clothes a lot, so i let people write on them too. i also have a pair of jeans with writing and scribbles on them.
another thing is that i tried putting fake blood on them (aka red tempera paint) on them like the trend a couple months ago, but it turned out so badly... i like them now that its faded though.. also i spilled ink on one too.
